The City of Joondalup Art and Culture Guide 2022-23 has landed and is bursting with events, experiences, and diversity to satisfy our culture buff. From action-packed family days to incredible music performances, free concerts, and exciting festivals, the town of Joondalup has never been more vibrant.
We are partnering with the City of Joondalup to bring you seven calendar highlights in 2022/23.
1. NAIDOC Week Celebrations

July 1 – 31, 2022
‘Stand up! Stand up! Show up!’ is this year’s theme for NAIDOC Week – an annual national celebration of the history, culture, and achievements of the Aboriginals peoples of the Torres Strait Islands. To celebrate, the City of Joondalup is hosting a month-long event from July 1 to July 31, including guided tours, workshops, theater performances, an exhibition, and more.
2. Music in the Park

November 2022 – March 2023
Incredible live music, foodie treats, and free family fun will get the whole community buzzing – that’s the vibe at Music in the Park. It is popular every year, and this year will be one of the best yet. The free series presents three concerts, all held in local parks in the town of Joondalup: concert one on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Greenwood; concert two on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Hillarys, and concert three on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Kinross.

3. Valentine’s Concert
Thursday February 9 2023
Unwind for an evening of incredible musical performances from renowned musicians in the picturesque setting of the Lakes Golf Course.
The lineup for this year’s event has yet to be announced. Still, previous years have featured performances by Perth Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Human Nature, The Whitlams, David Campbell, Dan Sultan, Kate Cebrano, Michael Falzon, and Lake.

4. Sunday Serenades

July – December 2022
Sunday Serenades has been running for almost twenty years and is a huge crowd favorite. This year’s program showcases the talents of local Western Australian artists and musicians in genres such as musical theatre, blues, classical, 1950s rock and roll, and more. Sunday Serenades are held monthly on a Sunday afternoon from July to December. Tickets are limited and selling quickly (they’re up for grabs now), so get yours early!
5. Little Feet Festival, for the whole fam

6. Get ready for the Festival of Motoring!

If cars are your thing, don’t miss the Joondalup Festival of Motoring, a two-day family-friendly car extravaganza unique to WA. You can experience a 2.5 km road course, car shows, food, entertainment, competitions, and truckloads of fun that will bring this epic festival to life.

7. Joondalup Festival

March/April 2023
The Joondalup Festival, the region’s largest cultural event, offers three weeks of exciting events and experiences, showcasing the best local Western Australian talent. There’s so much to look forward to in 2023 when the festival bounces back! Music, cabaret, immersive public art, theater, and comedy… the Joondalup Festival has it all.
